Mount Ascot take out QLD Ram of the Year

IT seems broad ribbons have a habit of finding a home with the Brumpton Family of Mount Ascot and Jolly Jumbuck Merino studs in Mitchell.

After children Felicity, Charlie and Lachie Brumpton won the Grand Champion All Purpose Merino with a ram known as Jolly Jumbuck Thumper at the Queensland State Sheep Show on Friday, the good fortunes continued for the family on day two of judging.

The Merino ram, Mount Ascot Bill, was named the Queensland Junior Ram of the Year and went on to claim the Queensland Ram of the Year. He will contest the national title in Dubbo in August.
