Lawral Park Prime SAMM stud principal Campbell Lawrie will be at Bendigo.

Great exposure for Prime SAMM

“It puts us against the best the eastern states has to offer so we can gauge ourselves against the Prime SAMMs and other sheep in the industry,” he said.

The stud won supreme Prime SAMM exhibit last year but is still chasing interbreed success.

“We have been fortunate enough to make interbreed finals and are getting feedback from the older generation of long time breeders that our sheep are really on the right track so we are getting closer.”

It will have its largest show team at the event this year with six rams and six to eight ewes.

Mr Lawrie says Prime SAMMs have the ‘keep it simple’ approach.

“They are a highly profitable option for sheep producers in all enviroments, offering a dual meat and wool income,” he said.
