Yearling heifers make to 702c at Dalby

There was a reduced yarding of 4301 at Dalby on Wednesday.

Numbers reduced by 596 head to 4301 at Dalby. All the regular export processors were present and operating selectively. The usual panel of feed and trade buyers were active in the market, along with a large line up of local and interstate restockers.

Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock continued to receive very strong support. Medium and heavy weight yearling steers to feed experienced only quality related price change. Medium and heavy weight yearling heifers to feed followed a similar trend. Light weight yearling heifers generally sold to a dearer market in places, however the large supply resulted in average prices remaining unchanged. All classes of cows sold to a cheaper trend with restocker lines 10c less, and export processor classes eased 3c to 12c/kg.

Male calves returning to the paddock made to 764.2c to return $1016/head. Light weight yearling steers were well supplied and made to 646c to average 531c/kg. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market averaged from 455c to 490c and made 532c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed made to 470c to average 444c/kg.

Yearling heifers under 200kg made to 702.2c to average 608c/kg. A large selection of yearling heifers under 280kg made to 580c to average 488c/kg. Yearling heifers to feed averaged from 416c to 439c and sold to 468c/kg. Heavy weight yearling heifers to feed averaged 419c and made to 429c/kg. Heavy grown steers to export processors made to 388.2c to average 385c/kg.

Medium weight plain condition cows returning to the paddock made to 295c to average 281c/kg. Medium weight 2 scores to processors averaged 256c and made to 273c/kg. Good heavy weight cows made to 314.2c to average 301c/kg. Heavy weight bulls made to 353c/kg.
