Charbray weaner steers make 543c/$1390 at Monto
There were 1400 head yarded at Monto sale.
Monto Cattle and Country held its prime cattle show and sale with 220 head put forward to be judged by Brent Evans, Nolan Meats, Gympie.
Champion pen of steers was awarded to Andrew and Molly Clarke, Molan Droughtmasters, with 12 young Droughtmaster bullocks averaging 527kg to realise 397c or $2095.
Champion single steer was taken out by Cree Pastoral Co with their Santa Gertrudis bullock weighing 635kg to make $2540.
Champion pen of females was won by Hatton and Son's Santa Gertrudis cows weighing 677kg, returning $2540.
Redline Cattle Co secured the best pen of heifers with their Red Brangus heifers averaging 475kg to return 412c or $1960.
Other local vendors taking out class wins were Two Moon Partnership, TJ and SL Clarke, KJ and L Davis and Coominglah Grazing Co.
Monto's fortnightly fat and store sale followed the prime cattle sale with another 1180 head offered. Paul Vanclooster sold 420kg Charbray steers to 445c or $1875. Mt Shaw Pastoral's Red Brangus steers averaged 460kg at 447c or $2050. Droughtmaster No. 9 steers weighing 456kg sold for 442c or $2020.
P and C Pegler's Droughtmaster steers made 363kg returning $1695 or 467c. Larsen Family Trust offered Charbray weaner steers which sold for $1390 or 543c. Limousin cross steers 212kg from Harrami sold to $1170 or 551c.
Goolah Grazing yarded Santa No. 0 heifers, selling for $1360 or 463c. R and D Cridland sold quality Brangus heifers averaging 382kg to make 470c or $1795. TM and RA Clarke sold Droughtmaster heifers averaging 276kg for 467c to realise $1290.
