All reds in demand at Beaudesert

An outstanding line-up of red cattle came to hand for the annual All Red Show and Sale at Beaudesert.

AN outstanding line-up of red cattle came to hand and sold to a very enthusiastic panel of buyers at Bartholomew & Co’s 13th Annual All Red Show and Sale at Beaudesert. 

Auctioneer Garth Weatherall said in the 847 head yarding heavier feeder steers sold firm, with lines of weaner steers and heifers firm to dearer. Quality lines of Droughtmaster heifers ready to join also sold very well.

Tony and Chantal Ludwig, Lamington, sold Droughtmaster steers 18 months for $1300. Droughtmaster steers 18 months from Graham Isbell, Coulson made $1300. Hills Family, Chinghee, sold Droughtmaster steers 18 months for $1290. Santa-cross steers from Jim and Michael Binstead, Palen Creek, went for $1215. Allan Hillier, Chinghee, sold Droughtmaster steers 15 months for $1200. Jarryd Janke, Rockside, sold Droughtmaster steers 15 months for $1145. Santa steers 14 months from Steven Finch, Canungra, made $995. Leon Maher, Hillview, sold Droughtmaster steers 12 months for $945. 

Hills Family, Chinghee, won first and second prize for breeder heifers and were represented by Simmone and Toby Ludwig, who were presented by Len Bundy (left) from Beaudesert Tyre Store.

Jon Stiller, Allenview, sold Limousin-cross weaner steers for $940. Droughtmaster weaner steers from AJ Bush & Sons, Bromelton, made $920. David Kassulke, Bromelton sold Droughtmaster weaner steers for $910. Glenn and Angela Whitehall, Derrymore, made $905 for their Santa weaner steers. Mt Maroon Grazing sold Santa-cross weaner steers for $895. Y-Wagyu Pastoral Co, Oaky Creek, sold Droughtmaster weaner steers for $870. Larapinta Droughtmasters, Laravale, sold Droughtmaster weaner steers for $800.  

Sponsor Lyn Manns, Gordons Transport, presented Erin Gutzke, Gutzke Rural Holdings, Coulson, with first prize for her Droughtmaster feeder heifers.

Hills Family sold Droughtmaster heifers 15 months for $1235. Tony and Chantal Ludwig sold Droughtmaster heifers 15 months for $1030. Gutzke Rural Holdings, Coulson, sold Droughtmaster heifers 14 months for $1060.  Edwards Rural, Silverdale, sold Droughtmaster heifers 15 months for $945.  

Sponsor Dean Zurvas of GWT Earthmoving awarded Mark Binstead with first prize for his pen of Santa weaner heifers.

Graham Harris, Harrisville, sold Droughtmaster cows and calves for $1270. J&A Siddins, Beaudesert, sold Droughtmaster cows and calves for $1250.
