MULTI PURPOSE: Redline Trailers has vast experience in designing equipment suited to transporting a wide range of cargo.

Designed for practicality and safety

New South Wales-based manufacturer Redline Trailers has invested more than two decades of technological know-how, experience and customer feedback into designing practical, reliable, safe, rugged and durable trailers for Australian conditions.

These are often described as the 'Landcruiser' of trailers and have received wide acclaim from croppers, mixed farmers, vineyard and horticultural operators, piggery owners, trades people, miners, construction companies and emergency services groups - to name a few - across Australia.

Redline Trailers' products have a wide variety of uses, including for grain, wool and fodder carting and transporting items such as firefighting equipment, wood, tools and small machinery.

The company, based at Young, is family owned and run by Lindsay and Faith Northcott, who set it up in the late 1990s.

It grew from Mr Northcott's experience working as a crop spraying and fertiliser spreading contractor and has diversified from building boomspray and header comb trailers to more wide-ranging, multi-purpose trailers.

Mrs Northcott said decades of operating farm equipment across rural NSW and Queensland gave them insight into the best designs and structural methods now used by Redline Trailers for different market segments.

She said the business philosophy was to supply innovative trailer solutions to meet the practical, safety and longevity needs of all customers, using the highest quality components available.

Mr Northcott said Redline Trailers sourced Australian-made steel and components to ensure durability and reliable performance.

"Our team is made up of skilled, quality-driven welders and assembly staff who take immense pride in their work," he said.

"They know what works and what doesn't and take extra care because they know where and how the trailers will be used."

Redline Trailers uses latest design and build technologies for its range of versatile tipping, flat deck and tilt bed trailers - with innovative features and smart solutions to address the operational challenges faced by specific customer sectors, such as farmers.

The flat deck tipping trailer is an economical multi-purpose piece of equipment that can save time and back-breaking effort.

It can be modified with Redline double fold side panels to cart sheep, pigs or goats, hay bales of all sizes, chemical shuttles, pallets and wool bales.

This trailer is also ideal to transport gravel, road base, soil, mulch or bark and well suited for feeding out- cotton seed or grain.

There is no need to remove a crate, or add an auger, so the transition from one task to another is simple and easy - even for a sole operator.

Standard features on Redline Trailer flat deck tippers include rocker roller suspension, stainless steel mudguards, parking stand, powder coating and hella LED lights.

Options include side boards in a range of sizes, stability legs, wheel upgrades, livestock sides, builders sides, load restraint options and ramps.

Redline Trailers' popular 900T tipper has the only Australian-made Rocker Roller Load Sharing Suspension, with no grease centre bearing, hardened steel pins and caste and electroplated centre.

The optional RL-Livestock side package makes it easy to cart a load of sheep and then quickly and easily adapt the side panels to cart hay, chemicals, bulk bags, wood, fencing materials, grain or gravel in the six cubic metres of enclosed space.

A five tonne ram, powered by a marine deep cycle battery, makes unloading easy.

Redline Trailers have a choice of six stud Landcruiser wheels or five stud BF Goodrich All terrain wheels and bolt-on safety chains and a 'plug and play' trailer plug ensure the tipper can quickly and easily be hooked-up to all tow vehicles.

The 900T tipper has fully removable sides and rear post, which means the 3.6m by 1.8m tray - complete with flush mounted in-tray tie downs - is an ideal mounting platform for firefighting units or water carting. A flat deck also allows transport of bulkier loads.

Redline Trailers has a new UP700 universal trailer, designed specifically for farm, civil and trade customers wanting an option to cart anything anywhere.

Without the restriction of wheel arches, it has a shallow incline for loading and unloading and many tie-down points for safety when towing.

Mr Northcott said Redline Trailers tested all of its equipment in the worst conditions and under the biggest payloads to ensure peak performance.

He said 2020 had been the most difficult year for the business in terms of managing COVID-19 lockdowns and restricted movements.

But he said the company had made every effort to remain open for business and meet the needs of its customers to minimise inconvenience and keep them rolling.

"For more than 20 years we have stood by our customers through good seasons, bushfires, droughts, floods - and now a pandemic," he said.

"Every Redline Trailer is built from the ground-up in Young, in country NSW.

"I am proud that in these difficult times, consumers recognise the value of supporting local manufacturers."

Professional development of staff is important to the Northcotts and they have an association with the Young TAFE campus.

Redline Trailers workshop superviser Steel Causer - a qualified diesel mechanic and welder - recently graduated from TAFE as a certified boiler maker and the company's first-year apprentice Nick Summerfield is progressing towards his trade certification.
